The Reef Octopus 4" Waste Collector is an elite, three-in-one accessory designed to enhance your protein skimmer's performance and reduce maintenance. It serves as a large-volume container for skimmate, effectively decreasing how often you need to empty your skimmer's collection cup. This system also incorporates a carbon filter to control and eliminate the pungent odors associated with protein skimmer waste, keeping the area around your sump smelling clean. Most importantly, it provides a crucial safety net against overflows by automatically shutting off your skimmer when the collector is full.

This waste collector boasts a substantial capacity of approximately 1400 ml (49 oz), making it suitable for even the most productive skimmers. It stands 18 inches tall with a compact 6.5 by 6.5-inch footprint, allowing it to fit in most sump cabinets. The drain line connection is located 12.25 inches from the base for convenient routing. For easy maintenance, the vented carbon housing can be quickly removed for carbon exchanges. The auto shut-off feature is powered by a reliable F3/L250V fuse, offering dependable protection for your aquarium and home. Please note that drain tubing is sold separately.

This product is ideal for the dedicated reef aquarist looking to automate their maintenance routine and protect their investment. It is especially beneficial for hobbyists with heavily stocked tanks that produce a lot of waste or for those who travel or are away from their aquarium for extended periods. By preventing messy and potentially damaging skimmer overflows, controlling odors, and reducing the frequency of a common chore, this waste collector provides significant peace of mind and allows you to enjoy a cleaner, more stable reef environment.
