The 1 Gallon ARM Reactor Media Coarse is a highly regarded calcium reactor media specifically formulated for saltwater reef aquariums. It serves as a complete solution, providing essential calcium, carbonate, and a comprehensive blend of trace elements to maintain stable water chemistry, crucial for the health and growth of corals and other calcifying organisms. Designed for use in calcium reactors, this media efficiently replenishes minerals consumed in the reef environment, helping to stabilize alkalinity and calcium levels.
This coarse-grade media boasts nearly 50 times the strontium of other brands, clocking in at an impressive 7390ppm, and ensures extremely low phosphate content (less than 1/10th of 1ppm) due to the absence of gastropod shells. Its precision grading allows for maximum carbon dioxide penetration, enhancing efficiency, while its highest solubility, metastable at 8.2, ensures optimal performance. The coarse granule size is specifically chosen to reduce the likelihood of clogging equipment, contributing to lower maintenance requirements. Each package is volume-measured at 1 gallon, with weights averaging between 8 to 10 pounds of media.
This product is an excellent choice for reef aquarium hobbyists utilizing calcium reactors who seek a reliable, high-performance, and low-maintenance solution for their tank's mineral demands. It is particularly beneficial for systems with a high bioload of calcifying corals, or for those aiming to achieve exceptionally stable water parameters with a trusted, industry-standard media. Its robust composition and anti-clogging properties make it a smart investment for maintaining a thriving reef environment.

This product works fine but couldn’t get anything dialed in until I set PH to 6.2. I wish it had a higher melt point.
Euphyllia heavy. It works to keep alk stable and ph pegged. Also always available for purchase which is half the battle
I was using reborn but changed over since TLF started selling the tiny pieces instead of the nice chunky rubble they used to. I didn't change the drip rate or bubble count and have the same consistent alkalinity as before. My tank didn't even blink. I run it in a 30" LifeReef reactor with Pinpoint PH controller 6.4-6.6
I was running Reborn but since it's on constant back order I needed something so I gave it a try. I went from 32 drips a minute 72 drips a minute and it still doesn't keep up. Not even close.
this media doesn't melt properly and is to inconsistent to consider using. If you want stressed corals and bleached out acros this media is for you.
Great size for reactor flow and nice that product is clean and ready to use. If the assays are to be believed then good quality material and nice there's actually magnesium in the blend.
Tried other reactor media!! My rare corals love this the best!!!
Love it great stuff
First time using this product but I love the size of the chunks and it works very well in my reactor. this is an 8lb tub. It took me 12lbs to fill my MRC-CR5. the courseness ensures that your recirc pump in your reactor can have a good flow around the media so it dissolves evenly
I've used this for years in my CA reactors. Never had any problems.
quick and easy to clean, also works great in my cal reactor.
